From Interstates 57 and 70: All three exits on Interstates 57 and 70 allow the traveler to journey to downtown Effingham where the courthouse is located at 110 E. Jefferson St.

From Exit 162, enter U.S. 45 South(N. Third St.) Travel southward to East Washington Ave.( a one-way street going west). The northeast corner of the courthouse property is located at the corner of East Washington Ave. and North Third St.

From Exit 160, enter Keller Drive, traveling in a southerly direction. Turn left at West Jefferson Ave. Continue into the downtown area to 110 E. Jefferson, the location of the courthouse.

From Exit 159, travel east, merging into West Fayette Avenue. Turn left onto South Banker St. Travel two blocks onto West Jefferson Avenue. Turn right, continuing to 110 E. Jefferson Ave. where the courthouse is located.

From route 40 west bound(E. Fayette Avenue), turn right onto S. Third St. Travel three blocks northward, then turn onto East Washington Ave.( a one-way street going west). The northeast corner of the courthouse property is located at the corner of East Washington Ave. and North Third St.

From route 40 east bound(W. Fayette Avenue), turn left onto S. Third St. Travel three blocks northward, then turn onto East Washington Ave.( a one-way street going west). The northeast corner of the courthouse property is located at the corner of East Washington Ave. and North Third St.

From route 45 south bound(N. Third St.) Travel southward to East Washington Ave.( a one-way street going west). The northeast corner of the courthouse property is located at the corner of East Washington Ave. and North Third St.

From route 45 north bound(S. Banker St.), turn right onto W. Jefferson Ave. continuing to 110 E. Jefferson Ave. where the courthouse is located.

From routes 32 and 33 north bound(S. Willow St.), turn left onto E. Fayette Avenue, turn right onto S. Third St. Travel three blocks northward, then turn onto East Washington Ave.( a one-way street going west). The northeast corner of the courthouse property is located at the corner of East Washington Ave. and North Third St.

From routes 32 and 33 south bound (Keller Drive), travel in a southerly direction. Turn left at West Jefferson Ave. Continue into the downtown area to 110 E. Jefferson, the location of the courthouse.

ECCCMA Meeting Schedule

General Membership Meetings are held once a month of the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the court-house first floor courtroom.

MISSON STATEMENT
Our MISSION is to preserve our Historic Register structure, to collect artifacts from county history, and to use them to educate our local and external communities, while immersed in the broader context of American history.

VISION STATEMENT
Our VISION is that the 1872 Effingham County Courthouse remains as an architectural gem that instills a sense of community pride and provides a venue to
educate and showcase the history, art, and transportation of Effingham County.

Get Involved

On November 11, 2012, the Museum opened its doors to the public. Currently there are exhibits on the first floor and the second floor. On the second floor there is exhibit space as well as room for lectures and other types of public gatherings.
